Elvesida Farm is a small working sheep farm situated on 100 acres in the beautiful Boston Valley of the Natal Midlands - between Howick & Bulwer. Elvesida Farm offers an affordable getaway for all ages, where parents can relax whilst the youngsters expend their energy in a safe and exciting environment. Bass fishing, tube riding on the river (summer only), walking, pony rides, mountain bike riding, milking the cows and of course, interacting with all the farm animals

Accommodation consists of 4 delightful options from a four bed farmhouse, two cottages “The Sheds”, one face brick cottage and 3 one bedroomed cottages “The Stables“.

All accommodation is on a self catering basis and all fully-fitted kitchens have fridge/freezers, microwaves, stoves, toasters, kettles, cutlery and crockery. Braais are available at all the houses

Guests need to bring their own bath towels with.

Television in each cottage but guests need to bring own decoder and smart card.

OUR SMALL ENTERTAINMENT VENUE - ALFRESCO SHEBEEN - is ideally suited as a meeting place for family reunions. birthday parties, anniversary celebrations and small work/corporate functions

Activities:
Fishing Activities on the farm include trout fishing in the farm dam as well as canoeing and swimming in the dam. Trout have been introduced in the river which borders the farm so hopefully we should one day be fishing for brown trout in the Elands River

Bird Watching Birding is a popular pastime in the area & is home to a wide variety of birds including many raptors, swallows, the Cape parrot & many more.

Other Activities Elvesida Farm offers an affordable getaway for all ages, where parents can relax whilst the youngsters expend their energy in a safe and exciting environment.

Tube riding on the river (summer only), walking, pony rides, mountain bike riding, milking the cows and of course, interacting with all the farm animals.

Our animal petting farm is now up & running with goats, rabbits, geese, chickens & ducks all waiting to be fed. Quad and off-road bikes are welcome and for the experienced rider there are tracks in the area.

For the less energetic just relax with your favourite book or wander along the paths that meander around the farm.

ACCOMMODATION:

THE SHEDS

The Sheds are two newly renovated semi-detached self contained units. The main room has a double bed and is en suite and the additional large twin room has a separate shower/toilet. Each shed boasts a large comfortable lounge with TV, a fitted kitchen with an open plan dining area. The lounge opens onto the huge covered patio and has wonderful views over the sheep paddocks, our “Sassy Trout Dam“, to the river and distant rolling hills. Breakfast or braai on the patio is the best way to start or finish the day. Ideal for families of four. Sorry no pets allowed.

THE FARM HOUSE

lvesida - This four bedroomed farmhouse, sleeping eight in comfort. Two bedrooms have double beds, whilst the others have two single beds each. Elvesida also has two toilet/bathrooms, diningroom, fireplace, fully fitted kitchen and a huge comfortable lounge with TV. It is ideally situated with its huge lawn for kids to expel their energy and in close proximity to all farm activities. A stroll down the hill brings you to the farm dam. Sorry no pets allowed.

THE COTTAGE

The Cottage - This two bedroomed facebrick cottage has an open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge. It is ideal for a family of four/five. The main bedroom is en-suite and there is room with a separate toilet/shower. Sliding doors from the lounge open onto a patio which is conveniently situated within earshot of a park-like garden and kiddies playground. A stroll down the hill brings you to the farm dam. Sorry no pets allowed.

THE STABLES

The original stables have now been converted into 3 one bedroomed self-contained units with toilet/shower, kitchenette & lounge with TV. It's ideal for wedding guests who are only up for the night. All activities are conveniently situated in walking distance of the units

There is a small shop in Boston Village that stock basic supplies.
We have a Farm Shop on Elvesida stocked with homemade jams and pickles.
Our newly completed Alfresco Shebeen is now open to all guests for their enjoyment – pub counter, dart board, pool table and DSTV for Sport Matches.
