Tourist attractions in the area.
Groot-Marico is on the N4 between Swartruggens and Zeerust, en-route to Botswana. The town is located on the Marico River. The Groot-Marico region, in the northern part of the North West Province, borders Botswana.

Herman Charles Bosman -- Marico is possibly best known through the legendary character Oom Schalk Lourens and the evocative tales of the Marico Bushveld written by the sometimes notorious Herman Charles Bosman who taught in the area in 1926.

Visit the local replica of the Bosman schoolhouse and pop into Santa & Eghet at the Information Centre on Paul Kruger street for more information on Herman Charles Bosman, over a tot of honey mampoer.

Meals and refreshments are also served at the Croc Inn overlooking the crocodile breeding dam, which offers traditional country cooked meals using locally produced organic herbs and produce. Madikwena Croc Ranch has 450 breeder crocodiles and 1500 growing crocodiles.

Any other information which may interest tourists to the area
Crime is unknown at Madikwena and it is also a Malaria free area. Accommodation and activities tailor made for all age groups. Outings to Sun City can be arranged and also outings to nearby places that reflect the unique culture of the area. Guests can be collected from Oliver Tambo International Airport, overnight at The Willows Country Lodge in Pretoria and travel by road to Madikwena Game and Crocodile Ranch, a journey of two and a half hours.

The Menu
The Croc Inn has mostly quick foods - grills, hamburgers, chips etc. Most meals will be taken at nearby Croc Inn Restaurant, but meals can also be served at Orange Blossom.
