Groenkloof Outdoor Adventure is quad bike, mountain bike and 4x4 world! This beautiful 2 200 hectares mountain farm nestles safely in the folds of the Koranna mountain range in the Eastern Free State in the middle of Ladybrand, Excelsior and Clocolan.

The mountains, fields, dirt roads and dongas offer unguided quad and 4x4 fun in one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa against the backdrop of the often snow-covered Maluti Mountains in Lesotho.

There is a formal 4X4 route for you to explore. Accommodation is in a beautiful fully equipped sandstone farmhouse shouldering the Korannaberg cliffs in picturesque spacious gardens with large traditional stoep-verandas and various braai areas. Charcoal, firelighters and maize cobs are provided for braais.

The furnished farmhouse sleeps up to ten persons in five bedrooms, two full bathrooms, lounge, dining area, a modern fully equipped kitchen with scullery and a pub and casual lounge with a fireplace, DSTV and hi-fi. Linen and towels are provided. Under-cover parking is available and quads are available at really reasonable rates on the farm. Also available: Hodgson House sleeps 8 and Nova Cottage sleeps 4 - 6 persons

Guests can also bring their own quads and the whole farm is yours to enjoy and explore during your stay.

Hiking Trails Hikers have the whole farm to explore and birders will loose themselves for hours whilst searching and spotting colourful feathered friends everywhere.

Visit a rabbit farm, cherry farms, a wine cellar, The Cabin farm stall, Umpukane flower farm with various tourist attractions, Evening Star pottery and hiking trail and Bio Sculpture (winner of Business Woman of the Year and winner of export business award)

The climate, owing to the proximity of the Maluti Mountains, is bracing even during the summer months. (No cell phone reception on farm – only from Lesotho network)

A bit about your hosts:
Janneman and Karin are your hosts and live on another farm closer to Clocolan. They bought Groenkloof farm in 2004 and farm it actively with cattle, maize and wheat. Janneman is a seasoned quad biker and has the Roof of Africa on his slate. Numerous awards and prizes bear testimony to his racing capabilities in the study of the farmhouse.
