This heart of the Rooibos world includes farming in fruit, vegetables and is known for its velskoen factory, Strassbergers. The Clanwilliam Dam Resort is a popular holiday resort for watersport enthusiasts and angling. The Clanwilliam dam is renowned as the best in the Western Cape for water skiing. Travel to the Biedouw Valley through the scenic Pakhuis-pass and discover the San rock-paintings in the Cederberg mountains. Explore the dramatic landscape consisting of huge outcrops. The stunning scenery and landscape provide ample photo opportunities. Clanwilliam is ideally situated to explore the West Coast. The town of Lamberts' Bay with its fishing harbour, only 60 km away, is a paradise for bird-lovers with the colony of Cape gannets, Cormorants and Jackass-penguins on Bird Island. Seafood enthusiasts can visit the crayfish festival (October to November) or have a fish braai at the original open-air restaurant "Muisbosskerm"
